TITLE
Star Chart detail Series 1

ARTIST
John Macormac

ABOUT THE WORK
The editions series is directly based upon these ‘star chart’ series drawings, adopting the same vocabulary of geometric shapes and marks and employing a range of drawing media, from India ink to delicate brush pens. Heavily worked areas need less marked ones to ‘breathe’ and to evoke the vast unknown expanses of space, awaiting exploration. Drawings are also informed by watching and listening to many space themed documentaries.

The editions have the same cadences as the larger drawings, a rhythm infused feel from many years of playing drums. The drawings can act as visual scores to be played by me or any other musician.
