HANDLING WORK policy

The UPHOLD team will at all times treat the artwork with utmost care and endeavour to protect the artwork to the best of their ability, to ensure it arrives to you in excellent condition.

Our team have been trained in art handling and packaging and are experienced in working with a wide range of media.

Each work we sell will require different packaging taking into consideration its unique properties. Whether it reaches you in cardboard tubing, bubblewrap, cardboard or box, every effort has been made to ensure its safety in transit.

A condition report is made of each work when it arrives at our storage facility and we take notes of any marks or minor imperfections on the work. We will not sell a work if we deem it to be damaged or significantly marked. However, due to the nature of the mediums used by the artists some of the works might display minor marks, fingerprints, or minor scratches that were made as part of the creative process. We will condition check and photograph the work before shipping to ensure we have a record of how it left our storage.

Unpacking Guide

Unframed Prints/ Drawings: When the work arrives please take care to open the packaging with clean, dry hands. If you are removing a print from a roll, slowly pull the print out from the centre, do not pull quickly at a corner as you will create creases.

Unframed Paintings/ mounted works: These are extremely fragile and should be unwrapped and touched only with gloves/ clean hands. Take care to minimise the amount these works are touched and when picking up hold the work at the sides with your fingertips so as to not damage the front surface of the artwork.

If you are unhappy with the condition of your purchase and want to return the work please refer to our Returns Policy.
