TITLE
Dead Hedge 9
ARTIST
Joey O'Gorman
ABOUT THE WORK
These prints are drawings created through his ongoing collaboration with users and organisers at Peas Park, an outdoor community project and garden near The Living House. For several years, he has been building dead hedges that provide habitat and shelter for the park’s non-human inhabitants, while also functioning as structures that organise the space and create boundaries. The drawings, developed as part of this embodied, multidisciplinary, and interspecies sculptural practice, respond to the movements and activities of those who use the site. Constructed over time through a process that parallels the making of the hedges, they reflect the slow, accumulative nature of the work. He is currently experimenting with ecological interventions for non-human audiences alongside the continued development of his drawing methodology.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Joey O’Gorman creates work across drawing, sculpture, audio, video, and installation to explore different ways of understanding vital interconnections. Through improvisational processes, he engages experientially with more-than-human relationships, employing speculative modes of enquiry to examine how individuals, communities, and ecosystems co-create one another.

Charys Wilson
ABOUT THE WORK
On silent air is a new edition of works the size of a handheld tablet by Charys Wilson. The plants and flowers featured in this edition of 10 individual works have been sourced from the immediate vicinity of The Living House, North Belfast; a collaboration between Household and MMAS Architects to inhabit and re-animate the building as a site for artistic and social exchange They create domestic landscapes intended for the home, which, through recycled polarised TV screens, provide partly obscured glimpses of organic growth. On silent air speaks of a mediated, digitalised, and disembodied experience of accessing a rapidly fading, tactile natural world through a technological interface.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Charys Wilson’s practice centres on installation and small-scale sculptural works. Drawing on a background in printmaking, her attention is often directed towards alignment, layering and the subtle relationships between materials, light and space. Elements of the outside are brought indoors, creating quiet encounters through illusion, mimicry, light and shadow.
