Garden Cemetery Diagram - Jennifer Mehigan

£35.00

TITLE
Garden Cemetery Diagram

ARTIST
Jennifer Mehigan

ABOUT THE WORK
This series of 20 unique mugs illustrates an ongoing investigation by Mehigan into the worlds of networked desire, abstraction as a method of remaining unknowable to the algorithm, and the body as an animal. Taking references from the Irish Queer Archive, print media during the famines of the 1800s, and the 2005 survey of Clare Island and its abbey, each mug forms a part of a larger graphic poem that layers the surreal practices of Irish otherness and flattens them over the structure of a mass produced domestic object.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jennifer Mehigan is interested in how power manifests in the world. Her works have always been situated somewhere between art and design, and in the past few years she has focused on widening the scope of technologies she uses to include modes of artificial intelligence and virtual/augmented reality, floristry, writing, parties, and meditative performances and films.
