ABOUT THE WORK
0.1km (Milan 8) is an image selected from a series of works developed by artist Michael Hanna for the online project 0.1km. Commissioned by academic Dan Webster, this project questioned personal, material, and digital thresholds and used online advertising to explore the relationship between online and physical space.
In the 0.1km series, the Belfast images show an area of intense new development around University of Ulster's campus. The Milan images, including 0.1km (Milan 8) , show a more established neighbourhood around the area where Hanna was based as artist in residence. Both sets of images are digitally recomposed with domestic photographs taken at the artist's home.
This artwork is professionally framed in a custom frame selected by the artist.
